Performance Rehearsals for shows vary according to show. 6 week style Classes begin Monday, 3/24.

Mondays:

EMERGING YOUNG ARTIST INITIATIVE FOR Grades 7+: Advanced Dramatic Theater – Intro to Zip to Script: March 24 – May 12

This advanced level creative development class allows students a safe and nurturing space to learn how to develop original theatrical work dealing with social issues concerning the group involved for production in a collaborative environment for the purpose of developing a full production scale play. A precursor to the abroad program, attending the Festival of Fringe Arts, Scotland, slated for summer of 2028 or 2029. This program is offered as a precursor to anyone interested in the new abroad program opportunity. **Students in this program will be able to talk with this year’s abroad troupe members to learn more about the program and what to expect.

2025 SPRING CURTAIN CALL SHOWS FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS**

The late spring curtain call shows offer flexible 1x per week rehearsals in casts that are grade specific. 2x per week optional for Little Mermaid Jr.

Selecting Tuesday or Thursday according to your child’s grade level allows the busy family the opportunity for a child to explore the arts, make friends with ease and hone skills in a smaller, age relateable experience.

Show Dates: Finding Nemo Kids (Tuesday/Cast A): Sunday, June 15 at 12pm; Finding Nemo Kids (Thursday/Cast B): Sunday, June 15 at 2pm

Little Mermaid Jr. (Tuesday/Cast A): Friday, June 13 at 6:00pm; Little Mermaid Jr. (Thursday/Cast B): Saturday, June 14 at 6:00pm.

*Auditions for Little Mermaid, Jr are 3/25 or 3/27 in 30 minute reserved intervals by grade groupings of 4-6 students. Email kidzkonnectionct@gmail.com to reserve your child’s audition today.There are no auditions for K thru 4th grades. Roles for that age range are given out to students after the first rehearsal to get to know each child and encourage cooperative team building with a non-competitive approach to enjoying the arts.

Finding Nemo Kids for grades 1-4 (Tuesday or Thursday)

This once-a-week program gives young actors who may be new to the stage an opportunity to perform in their own 40 minute Musical Production, Finding Nemo Kids, in a more intimate setting casting only students grades 1 thru 4. No audition necessary for this group.

Little Mermaid Jr. for grades 4-10 (Tuesday or Thursday)

Fantastic instruction for young emerging performers culminating in a performance. Audition Required. Everyone will receive a role regardless of experience with acting.  Contact kidzkonnectionct@gmail.com to reserve an audition.

Wednesdays:

Grades 1 – 4: Fairytale Theater ~ March 26 – May 21

Join us for our Little Mermaid Fairytale Story Theater. This 30 minute story of a beloved fairytale is perfect for our littlest thespians to be performed in our intimate theater space at The Academy. Free performance Wednesday, May 21 at 6:00pm for family members only. Students will all receive a speaking role they can be successful with based on our initial first class. No auditions for this program. Guaranteed to bring a smile to any young performers face. Students may also be subject to a nominal costume fee and supplying own undergarments TBD during rehearsals.

Grades 5+: Tap/Jazz Combo for the Tween & Teen Beginner (6 weeks instruction March 26 – May 7)

A traditional 6-week class for students looking to improve their dance skills. Many young people discover theater over time and once bit by the bug realize they are missing essential dance skills to get top roles in high school theater or professionally.  This class is designed to teach the older actor the critical basics to tap dancing in an age-friendly environment.  This high energy, full of fun moves class will have you tapping with confidence at auditions in no time!

Grades 6+: Miss Maria’s Best BootcampsDance through Broadway Hits & Audition Mastery (6 weeks instruction March 26 – May 7) 

2 three-week sessions of intensives offered this winter: Bootcamp 1: Dance through the Broadway Hits. Bootcamp 2: Audition Prep for Summer Stock Theater. Performer. Shows at the Academy. The class is recommended for any beginning/intermediate or advanced dancer 

The Dance Boot Camp is an intensive 6-week program designed to elevate your dance skills and prepare you for the demands of the professional dance world. This course is split into two focused segments: mastering the art of dancing in heels and honing your auditioning techniques through cold call auditions.

Weeks 1-3: Bootcamp 1: Dance through the Broadway Hits 3/26; 4/2; 4/9. Learn the best new trending choreo with all your favorite musicals. 

Weeks 4 – 6: Bootcamp 2: Audition Prep for Summer Stock Theater 4/23; 4/30; 5/7. By the class/walkins $27 each week or take both sessions for immediate 10% off.

Advanced Tap (Pre-Screening Required) (6 weeks instruction March 26 – May 7)

All students who wish to participate in this class must be evaluated by our head dance teacher/choreographer, Maria Teresa Lonetti. This class is for advanced level performers who have prior experience with dance and/or theater. 

Ages: New students must be pre-screened to determine appropriate placement in this class. Every Friday drama classes/acting classes and Improvisation classes for all ages/grade levels for 6 weeks:

Grades 1 – 3: Little Play Makers – Story Fun. (6 weeks instruction March 28 – May 9)

A fun drama class designed specifically for children who are in grades 1 -3 to learn to create their own stories through fun improvisation games and activities. Children learn to use their imaginations in a fun and cooperative environment to encourage kindness and positive social skills while discovering a love for the performing arts.

Grades: 1-3 | Tuition: $204.00 | Class Time: Fridays, 4:15pm – 5:15pm | Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT I Showcase: May 9 at 6pm free for family/friends

Grades 4 – 6: Junior Madcappers. (6 weeks instruction March 28 – May 9)

This once-a-week drama class helps students write their own comic material, create stories for performance and incorporates improvisation games and drama activities into a fun and cooperative experience. A perfect class for any child interested in exploring the performing arts in a free, imaginative setting. 

Grades: 4 – 6 | Tuition : $90 for active members and $124.00 for new members By the class/walkins $27 each week.

Grades 7+: Comedy Center (6 weeks instruction March 28 – May 9)

A traditional improvisation and comic theater 8-week class for older students looking for a class to explore comedy and improvisation. Students work separately and together to develop comic skits and routines appropriate for each age level. 

Grades: 6th and Up | Tuition : $90 for active members and $124.00 for new members By the class/walkins $27 each class

Saturdays:

Ages 13 – adult: Advanced Level Musical Theater, Phantom of the Opera

Rehearses every Saturday from 10-2:30pm until 5/25. (No rehearsals April 19 or May 24 – holiday weekends)  Mandatory Tech Week Monday, June 2 thru Thursday, June 5 from 4 – 9pm Auditions March 25 & 27 from 5 – 7:30pm.  **This is an advanced level program and as such a $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place before auditions.  8th graders MUST also participate in the the late Spring Musical, Little Mermaid Jr. to participate in this program. 7th graders with interview and participation of Little Mermaid Jr.  

***Once the cast list is sent out, students are committed to the production, regardless of role received. Any student who drops out of an advanced level program after casting will not be allowed to participate in any mainstage or advanced level production for the term of one full annual year. Students may still enjoy classes however. There is a $100.00 non-refundable security deposit.


Ages: 14 – adult | Tuition : $355 | Class Time: Saturdays from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm | Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT | Performance: Friday, June 6 at 7pm at The Andrews Memorial Town Hall

Classes are subject to rescheduling in the event conflicts are unavoidable. All production rehearsals run through the show dates of the specific show. Tech week rehearsals generally occur daily and are the final week of each production scheduled. Tech week rehearsals scheduled are mandatory. You are urged to check and clear any potential personal conflicts NOW for any of the shows you are interested in participating. To secure placement all programs require a $50.00 non-refundable deposit. Full payment is due the day of the audition. There are no refunds after the cast list has been posted or after December 30, 2024, within one week of any class/program starting.
