Performance Rehearsals for shows vary according to show with a final week of “tech” requiring daily rehearsals TBD by show needs. All 8 week style classes begin week of March 10.

Mondays:

EMERGING YOUNG ARTIST INITIATIVE FOR Grades 7+: Advanced Dramatic Theater – Ink to Impact (A study abroad, social justice–focused playwriting and performance program): March 24 – May 12

This advanced level creative development class allows students a safe and nurturing space to learn how to develop original theatrical work dealing with social issues concerning the group involved for production in a collaborative environment for the purpose of developing a full production scale play. A precursor to the abroad program, attending the Festival of Fringe Arts, Scotland, slated for summer of 2028. This program is offered as a precursor to anyone interested in the new abroad program opportunity. **Students in this program will be able to talk with this year’s abroad troupe members to learn more about the program and what to expect.

Tuesdays:

2026 SPRING SHOWS FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS 1 to adult**

Descendants One Act for grades 1 – 5 OR Descendants grades 5 – 12. Begins the week of March 9.

Tuesday rehearsals only. Theater tailored to your child’s grade level allows the busy family the opportunity for a child to explore the arts, make friends with ease and hone skills in a smaller, age relateable experience.

Show Dates: Disney Descendants for grades 1 -5: Saturday, June 6 at 4:00pm; Descendants the Musical Grades 6+ (Tuesday/Cast A): Friday, June 12 at 6:30pm and Saturday, June 13 at 2:30pm

*Auditions for Descendants the Musical for grades 5 to 12 are 3/3 or 3/5 in 30 minute reserved intervals by grade groupings of 4-6 students. Email kidzkonnectionct@gmail.com to reserve your audition today. There are no formal auditions for grades 1 thru 5 participating in the One Act. However, students are asked to join a group meet and greet on Wednesday, 3/4 from 5:30 – 6:30pm to assist us in learning about your child to support providing them the best fit for their current stage confidence and potential. Roles for that age range are then given out to students after the first rehearsal to get to know each child and encourage cooperative team building with a non-competitive approach to enjoying the arts.

Descendants Young Edition for grades 1-5 (Tuesday only) 4:15 – 5:45pm

This 12 week, once-a-week, program gives young actors who may be new to the stage an opportunity to perform in their own 60 minute Musical Production, Descendants, in a more intimate setting casting only students grades 1 thru 5. No audition necessary for this group. Students will either be subject to a nominal costume fee ($30-$50) and supplying own undergarments or will be responsible for making your own costumes. TBD during rehearsals. Daily Rehearsals 6/8 – 6/11 (Tech Week).

Descendants the Musical for grades 5-12 (Tuesday or Thursday) 5:45 – 7:45pm

This 12 week musical production experience is offered weekly for 12 weeks, 2 hours per week and a full tech week with daily rehearsals provides the most comprehensive instruction for the young emerging performer to discover their interests in the performing arts culminating in a full scale performance for an audience. Audition Required – 3/3 or 3/5. Everyone will receive a role regardless of experience with acting.  Contact kidzkonnectionct@gmail.com to reserve an audition after completing registration and security deposit. Students will either be subject to a nominal costume fee ($30-$50) and supplying own undergarments or will be responsible for making your own costumes. TBD during rehearsals.

Grades: 5-12 | Tuition: one day $479.00 or two day option $579.00 | Class Time: Tuesdays OR Thursdays 5:45pm – 7:45pm | Rehearsal Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT I Show: Tuesday Cast A – Friday, June 12 @ 6:30pm and Saturday, June 13 @ 2:30pm *Tech Week mandatory, daily rehearsals June 8 – 11 from 4 – 8:30pm.

Wednesdays:

Grades 1 – 5: Little Showstoppers – Shrek Kids ~ March 11 – June 3 (12 weeks from 4:15 – 5:45)

Join us for a 12 week 90 minute beginner Musical Theater class, SHREK Kids. Children will learn a 45 minute story with music of a beloved fairytale is perfect for the younger thespian to be performed in our intimate theater space at The Academy. Free performance Saturday, June 6 at 12:30pm for family members only. Students will all receive a speaking role they can be successful with based on our initial first class. No auditions for this program. Guaranteed to bring a smile to any young performers face. Students are responsible for making your own costumes. TBD during rehearsals.

Grades 8+: Advanced Level Dramatic Theater – ALMOST, MAINE

Almost, Maine features 9 interconnected stories about love, loss, and connection set on a magical winter night in the remote mythical town of Almost, Maine. This play is for the student serious about performing interested in deepening their understanding of character development and acting for the stage. Auditions March 3, 5 or 7 by appointment. Rehearsals begin March 11 and run 10 weeks. Performances May 22 and 23 at 6:30pm. **Students required to create/provide own costumes TBD during rehearsals.

Fridays:

Every Friday drama classes/acting classes and Improvisation classes for all ages/grade levels for 8 weeks from March 13 until May 15. **No classes April 3 or April 17 (holidays)

Grades 1 – 3: Little Play Makers – Descendants Story Fun. (8 weeks instruction March 13 – May 15)

A fun drama class designed specifically for children who are in grades 1 -3 to learn to recreate a beloved children’s story in a more relaxed and stress free environment than the full production. Children learn to use their imaginations in a fun and cooperative environment to encourage kindness and positive social skills while discovering a love for the performing arts. Students are responsible for creating their own costumes. TBD during rehearsals. 

Grades: 1-3 | Tuition: $204.00 | Class Time: Fridays, 4:15pm – 5:15pm | Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT I Showcase: Sunday, May 17 at 12:30pm free for family/friends. ***No classes April 3 or April 17 (holidays)

Grades 4 – 6: Performance Lab (8 weeks instruction March 13 – May 15)

This once-a-week drama class helps students write their own material, create stories for performance and incorporates improvisation games, drama activities and acting exercises into a fun and cooperative experience. A perfect class for any child interested in exploring the performing arts in a free, imaginative setting or who wants to focus on character development and/or comic performing. 

Grades: 4 – 6 | Tuition : $110.00 for active members and $148.00 for new members ~ By the class/Walkins welcome $24 each week.

Class Time: Fridays 5:15-6:00pm | Location: 61 E. Main Street – The Academy Building, Clinton CT – **No classes April 3 or April 17 (holidays)

Grades 7+: Comedy Center (8 weeks instruction March 12 – May 15)

A traditional improvisation and comic theater 8-week class for older students looking for a class to explore comedy and improvisation. Students work separately and together to develop comic skits and routines appropriate for each age level. 

Grades: 6th and Up | Tuition : $110 for active members and $148.00 for new members By the class/walkins $27 each class

Saturdays:

Ages 13+: Advanced Level Musical Theater, INTO THE WOODS

Rehearses every Saturday from 10-2:30pm until 5/25. (No rehearsals April 19 or May 24 – holiday weekends)  Mandatory Tech Week Monday, May 26 thru Thursday, May 28 from 4 – 9pm Auditions March 3 or 5 or Saturday, March 7 by appointment.  **This is an advanced level program and as such a $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place before auditions.  8th graders MUST also participate in the Mainstage Musical, Descendants to participate in this program. 7th graders with interview and participation Descendants.  Students will either be subject to a nominal costume fee ($30-$50) and supplying own undergarments or will be responsible for making your own costumes. TBD during rehearsals.

***Once the cast list is sent out, students are committed to the production, regardless of role received. Any student who drops out of an advanced level program after casting will not be allowed to participate in any mainstage or advanced level production for the term of one full annual  year. Students may still enjoy classes however. There is a $100.00 non-refundable security deposit.

Classes are subject to rescheduling in the event conflicts are unavoidable. All production rehearsals run through the show dates of the specific show. Tech week rehearsals generally occur daily and are the final week of each production scheduled. Tech week rehearsals scheduled are mandatory. You are urged to check and clear any potential personal conflicts NOW for any of the shows you are interested in participating. To secure placement all programs require a $50.00 non-refundable deposit for all regular shows and $100 for any advanced show. Full payment is due the day of the audition. There are no refunds after the cast list has been posted or within one week of any class/program starting.
