**Fall 2025 Audition Materials for are currently listed below for anyone preparing.
Please contact shorelinetheateracademy@gmail.com to reserve your audition for any production only after you have fully registered for the production of your choice in any season. Auditions for musicals consist of a cold dance audition and for grades 6 to adult, one solo from the musical you are auditioning for. The dance audition is cold which means there is nothing to prepare ahead. We just want to see how you move, your comfort level with performing currently as well as your demeanor while taking directions. Your solo should reflect your vocal range as well as the character you might consider identifying best with in the show. Grades 4/5 are not required to prepare a solo for our musicals but may choose to sing the song suggested as a group in their audition and at request and given time available, may also sing the same song as a solo. Be mindful, you may not need to sing the entire song. If we ask you to stop it is because we have heard your range in the given time you receive. Generally learning the first verse and chorus to any song is sufficient.
We keep the auditions to small groups of 5 – 7 students in same age ranges. All auditions are approximately 30 minutes long.
Auditions are non-competitive. We do our best to provide as stress free an experience as possible. Coming prepared ahead with your song choice can add to your own level of confidence in the audition but actors are not required to be fully memorized. We want everyone to discover the love of theater art. Whether this is your first audition ever or you have been in many productions already, we hope to foster an environment of positivity and respect and above all a place to make great friends and have fun!

Matilda the Musical
Matilda: Grades 4/5: Beginner Thespians
Every student in grades 4/5 are asked to sing the song Naughty together in the audition.

There is also a cold dance audition. This means there is no preparation necessary for this portion of the audition. We just want to see you try a few steps in a group setting to get a sense of your current comfort level for moving on stage.
Grades 6 and up, please choose any song that best suits your current vocal range and strengths from the show below. Hover your cursor over the upper right corner of the link to see all tracks. As with grades 4/5, there will also be a cold dance audition. Please come in clothes you can move comfortably in.
