Upcoming Audition Materials
Auditions will be held on September 9th & 10th. Once you have fully registered, please email shorelinetheateracademy@gmail.com to reserve your audition.
For students (Grade 5+) and adults, auditions include a “cold” dance call—no preparation required—and one solo from the musical. Please choose a song that fits your vocal range and preferred character; we provide digital tracks with or without backing vocals.
Generally, a verse and chorus are sufficient, and we may stop you early once we’ve heard your range.
We keep the auditions to small groups of 5 – 7 students in same age ranges.
All auditions are approximately 30 minutes long.
We strive to keep auditions stress-free and non-competitive. While coming prepared with a song choice can boost your confidence, full memorization is not required.
Our goal is to foster a positive, respectful environment where everyone —from beginners to seasoned performers— can discover a love for theater, make friends, and have fun!
Grades 5 and up: Performers can choose any song from either show with or without vocal backing that best represents your vocal range and character interests for either show.
Please prepare 1 – 2 minutes of a song of your choice.
If you aren’t sure, are new to performing or in the 5th or 6th grade, you can select the first couple of verses from a chorus.
Select one monologue from below that you feel can best show your current acting skills. Memorizing your monologue is always best but it is not required.
