Ink to Impact
Where teen voices become world-stage stories.
Students write, workshop, and perform original pieces rooted in things they care deeply about — identity, mental health, belonging, and the complexities of being young today. Then they take the stage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Student voices.
Original stories.
Real impact.
Ink to Impact is Shoreline Theater Academy’s signature devised theater program. It starts with a blank page and a question: What do you need the world to hear? Students answer that through writing, collaboration, and performance — ultimately sharing their work on one of the most celebrated stages in the world.
Write
Students explore their passions and lived experiences to craft original scripts and songs.
Workshop
Pieces are developed through rehearsal, peer feedback, and creative iteration.
Perform
Finished works are brought to life on stage — including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Find Your Story
Students explore topics that matter most — relationships, identity, mental health, social justice — and begin building a story worth telling.
Shape It Together
Through writing workshops, peer collaboration, and director guidance, each piece is refined into a full script with original music, staging, and character.
Take the World Stage
The finished production travels to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival — the largest performing arts festival on the planet — where it performs for international audiences.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Founded in 1947, the Edinburgh Fringe is the world’s largest performing arts festival — hosting over 3,300 shows across 300 venues every August in Edinburgh, Scotland. Bold, boundary-pushing new work gets seen by critics, producers, and audiences from around the globe.
For Ink to Impact students, performing at the Fringe isn’t just a performance — it’s proof that their stories deserve to be heard everywhere.
Productions
Every Ink to Impact production begins as a conversation between students and becomes a show the world gets to see.

Escape the Noise
A story written through the teen perspective — conversations about sexuality, gender identity, eating disorders, and the constant noise of modern adolescence. Premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe and returned for a North American debut at the Guilford Arts Festival.
“A piece full of endearing moments transformed easily through effective use of choreography and song.”
— The Scotsman
